Hiking (walking) and biking are about the most common forms of exercise and perhaps the oldest forms of transportation in the world today. Our hiking and biking programs offer the fun, excitement, and physical exhilaration of being out in the woods with a group of co-workers and colleagues.

Basic Orienteering
Methodology:
Only by working in small teams will it be possible to master this smaller area of wooded fields and make contact with all the required control points. Using a map and compass, teams will practice basic orienteering in our introductory orienteering area. With a set time limit, the competition heats up as both teams gain expertise, speed and ability.
Objectives:
To plan ahead strategically in order to complete the check in at all 5 control points in the allotted time and on as many courses as required.
Time: 30 to 45 minutes
Intermediate Orienteering and Obstacle Course
Methodology:
Building on skills from the first session, participants will attempt to gain mastery over a much larger orienteering field that just so happens to be filled with occasional significant obstacles that are unavoidable. Some of these obstacles are man-made and some occur naturally in nature. Either way the use of and accuracy of compass readings becomes very significant over longer distances, and requires greater team effort.
Objectives:
To plan ahead strategically in order to complete the check in at all 5 control points in the allotted time and on as many courses as required.
Time: 30 to 45 minutes plus debriefing
Biking and Hiking Location and Baton Exchange
Methodology:
While teams break into groups of bikers and hikers, their sub-groups are given the strategic goal of locating the other part of their team on the open trail using only a compass and landmarks. Only by finding these secret clues and codes, can their entire intact team gain admission across the finish line to beat the competition.
Objectives:
To coordinate the efforts of Bicyclists and Hikers via communications with headquarters and secret signal system, allowing the two to meet together at the specified coordinates and return as one coherent team in the fastest time.
Time: About 1 hour
Strategic Biking and Hiking Information Gathering
Methodology:
In order to orchestrate the gathering of necessary information from "out in the field" by those that have never been out in the field, it is necessary for the middle managers (bicyclists and the hikers) to use all the new skills that the teams have gained thus far. The middle managers can only succeed by coordinating their work with the strategic headquarters/executive offices.
Major communication problems must be overcome and creative problem solving will be necessary to create the system of signals needed to finish the task. Each team must coordinate efforts to gather the strategic information Only by gathering and transporting all the required information back at the headquarters can the entire team gain access to the secret message that will ultimately improve the companies performance, morale and bottom line, and of course win the competition.
Objectives:
To get all the pieces of the information puzzle back to the main headquarters first, and discover the secret message that will help the company bottom line.
